Hi team
I'm sure you all agree that it's a very fine feeling indeed to have the last long run under our belts! Thanks Sharyn and Leonor for all the goodies at the end, it was very welcome. The run itself was really pleasant.
I've been busy relaxing with my feet up and a couple of non-stick dressings glued firmly to the grazes on my knees. I should have listened to Ted, the voice of experience, who was saying to me before my spill that at this point in the programme, take it easy cause you wouldn't want to get hurt now, this is just when it can happen. I have learn't my lesson! Never run forwards while looking backwards! Luckily for me my knees feel fine, except for the outside. Reminds me of 5th class.
Lee, your laid-back week seems to have done you no harm at all, you cruised through today.
Does anyone know if Amy turned up? I have a feeling she was probably tucked away in some cosy place with a warm drink. I hope she and Chris found eachother without any dramas.
Have a good week everyone, I'm going to miss these group runs after April 13. See you in Vauclause

Ditto! I feel a HUGE relief to have the final 35km over. I now believe that we'll really take Canberra.
And a big thank you from me too. Leonor and Sharyn - it really was a well organsied morning. And it was virtually a full blown STaR. What was the official count? I thought I counted about 18 heads running.
Margaret, glad to hear that the fall has only grazed skin and not done any more damage. I trust that the teenagers in your life have doted on you accordingly today ;-)
Yes, Amy did turn up just before we left. So not sure of what happened.
Lee - nice to run and chat with you for the little while you stayed back with the caboose club. And great to see you have a good run. So keep the navman! I hope you enjoy your movie tomorrow. Enjoy being "Lee" and not "Daddy" for a few hours - it really is good for the soul.
Bruce - you were very much missed. Denise and I scoffed a jelly baby or two on the run in your honour. How's your Titus Russel coming along? Mmmmm... That sounds like a cocktail we should be ordering at the bar on the afternoon of the 13th!!
Happy easter and enjoy all the chocolate - we've earnt it!
PS
Marget - nice work doing a whole new post. Marathoners AND Bloggers - true Millenium women!
Hi. Sounds like another great run. Wish I was there.
I'm pain free (with the help of my new best friend Voltaren) so I figure I'll walk a slow 20k at the Easter Show today as a form of Training Light, and do my new aductor exercises this week, and I should be good for a glorious if slow return at Vaucluse.
No need to miss anything post 13 April Margaret. After our recovery run and breakfast on the 20th, there are the STaRs leading into the Sydney half in May, not to mention the STaR we are down to host in June, leading up to the Gold Coast Marathon in July. See you soon.
You know Bruce, you are absolutely right! No need to worry about bouncing off the walls in the running gear at home, hassling the sleeping dog... those early Sunday morning runs are going to keep on coming all through winter! Glad to hear you butt is on the mend.
I think cocktails on the afternoon of April 13 will be indispensable, Paula, strictly medicinal purposes. We could create the Titus Russel in recognition of our marathon achievement.
With a certain trepidation I will again try to add something to this blog. My maiden attempt was successful but the follow up was frustrated by messages telling me I had forgotten my password.
I am impressed at the energy you folks have in submitting these blogs. It is very encouraging to see you so confident about the big CM.
I pulled up pretty well yesterday and backed up with a 23 km this morning. The long weekend is just too good a time to run so I could leave it out. I did my own version of the 10 bridges but it is on seven. From North Sydney to the three bridges that lead to Victoria Rd. The first one I don’t know the name of but then it is Tarban, Gladesville, Iron Cove, Anzac, Pyrmont and the Harbour Bridge to finish off.
That was a great run yesterday. Sharyn did an excellent job levelling out what is a very Hilly area. And also thanks from me to Leonor for the refreshments at the end.
My dear old pair of shoes that have done just on 1,200 kms will have to go to God. They smell so bad I can’t get in the car with them. I’m sure they feel the same way about me.
Tossing up what to do tomorrow. I will miss the opportunity to run with the crowd but I don’t want to run the Wahroonga Wobble because it has a lot of bush. Maybe a light 10km. That should put me in the mood for my afternoon nap which I have been enjoying enormously.
See you at the V.
