Big Ships

Hey guys

Didn't we pick a good day to run in the city!?? Two big ships to gawk at + the morning-after spectacle from a mardi-gras party at Mrs Macquarie's Point! I will definitely bring the camera so we can get a snap with one of them in the background.

I've been to the RTA website and it shows that Hickson Road is NOT a clearway. So let's hope we're okay to park. If there are loads of ship-spotters out and about at 6am on a Sunday we may, at worst, have to start further down Hickson towards the actual start of the SMH race. I shall have put all your mobile phone numbers in my mobile and we can play "duelling mobiles" until we find each other somewhere along Hickson Road.

I'll text you all now to ensure you log onto this blog before tomorrow.
Bruce - I don't have your number so I'll just email you and hope you get it. If you don't, then at least I have on record that I did try :-) - always covering my &ss!

Given that I don't have your number and this is a public forum can you please email me back with your number?
We can't be too careful - I am sure that there are 1000's of folk have bookmarked this blog and wait with bated breath for the next instalment. ;-)

Oh! I ran into (literally!) Ted Brailey (fellow Strider) on my 10km jaunt around Iron Cove this morning. We ran together for about 2.5 kms. He isn't doing the Equaliser tomorrow either and so was ver keen to hear of our rebel group. So I've emailed him with the tomorrow's details.

You'll all know Ted when you see him - he's one of those long time members who I think are like "national treasure" status within the club.

C u tomorrow!

Thanks for thinking of this Paula. I will have my mobile too. How many kms are in the plan for tomorrow?

Hi Paula, mobile no. emailed, thanks.

Have cans of coke, diet coke, and coke zero, and coke bottles with gatorade. (Can bring caffeine free diet coke if any likes). Have some snakes and jelly baby (not bean) type things.

Not sure how many cans to bring? How many people are coming?

The plan is to do the SMH half course (modified a bit to reduce traffic lights / stops). 2 x 10k laps, going through the botanic gardens on lap 2 after the 7am opening. Any distance can be incorporated as you are never more than 2km from the start.

I'll print some basic maps. I've found a govt web-site with toilets including (alleged) opening times http://www.toiletmap.gov.au
and I'll mark them in.

See you tomorrow!

we're definitely a party of four. We may be five if Ted joins us.

Haven't had any reply from my email as yet. Not that I was expecting anything to be truly honest.

1* real coke for me - sugar and caffeine please.

Bruce, I think you're a contender for STaR host of the year - a toilet map!!!!!!!!

It sounds good. I think Claudia will come too. She seemed keen last week. I'll call her to confirm. See you all at 5.50, outside the STC. I'm going to bring my camera too, it will be a gorgeous run with the big boats at the Quay! Marathon training has actually made my Sunday morning runs my favourite time of the week(?) Must be the endorphin rush. I'm addicted.
