If ever there was a case of the journey being more important than the destination, and the company it was made in being more important than the journey, for me, this was it. Thank you all.
By the way, I can't walk downstairs!!! Right knee won't bend. I'm making the most of it with Shane taking over all the packing, cooking, driving etc. Think I'll string this one out as much as possible :)
Hope your aches and pains remain long enough for you to savour the moment but disappear by the time you all next decide to tie up the laces.
I think I have finally figured out how to sign on to this blog #**%% thing.
I've been wearing my medal all day. Still very high and in fact from time to time my high seems to exceed previous highs.
Have lactic burn in my thighs and calves. Have a funny pain across the top of my right foot. But all things considered the training program worked and I am in better nick than I expected. Tomorrow may be a bit different.
The more I think about it the more in awe I am of Sharyn's run. Very very gutsy.
Bruce I agree the journey was good and made so much better by the fellow travellers but the detimation was very sweet!
Yes I am going to do another and this year if I can.
My dear Fab Five, Friends and Striders! What a great moment - what a great journey. Thank you for all your kindness, your support, your encouragement, your advice, your help - I finally realised how fantastic it feels to have accomplished our Marathon.
From the bottom of my heart - you're a great bunch and I feel so lucky to have been able to be part of this amazing journey.
We made it!
And yes, I will post a pic with my 'little companion', I picked up on my way ... the little orange balloon ...

Why do I have a vision of being overtaken by a (shorter) Hill or 2 in a few years!!
Had to sort of laugh last night when I saw that the Sydney Running Festival is taking registrations today..
