The Shoes Have Landed!

Yes the SMC came good on their prize of free shoes. A pair of shiny new Nike shoes were delivered to my house this afternoon! I shall be sure to wear them to our pre-race pep talk on the Saturday afternoon. You can all admire them and know that each of your $12 entry fees paid for a teeny tiny bit of them.
No. 2 Son (Declan) tried them on first. Very funny - he had that clown feet look going on. He then began to run up and down the hall in them - an extremely funny kodak moment that I'm inflicting upon you all (see left).
The truly alarming thing was the "panting" sound he affected while doing these runs........ Do I really sound like that???!!!
Oh! My excitement levels are on high. I have to consciously hold myself back from making comments to all and sundry about the fact I'm running a marathon in just 10 days. AAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH Have just worked out that we're down to single digits tomorow!!
I've only got to enter three more runs in that spreadsheet. And all things going to current plans - I will only run the treadmill one more time before the big M. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
GOOD NIGHT

In his first running photo my boy has achieved what every runner desperately wants for their photo - Both feet in the air!

Enjoy your taper everyone - the money is in the bank now awaiting withdrawal.
See you all for the Saturday evening carb fest.

Hold back? Why? Drop the M word into every conversation you can.

As Leonor says, thats a lovely photo.

The green plant in the background is roughly the same shade of grean as my almost successfully completed 22 week marathon training programme sheet.

I'm hoping the Tank Engine is right.

The fat controller keeps signalling a potential margin call over my Maximus savings account, but even so, it should have enough left in it to pay the months bills.

I'll be shouting as planned tomorrow. I'll shout extremely loudly if I see anyone fly through the finish in contravention of the Rules of Taper. Otherwise I'll see you where-ever we are on Sunday.

The shoes may have landed but guess what I saw today - a pink fuel belt!

Now that is one that is unlikely to get mixed up with many others..see you on Sunday
