Past victories were great,

Sean and I did our first sprint training session last night, in the hopes of improving our times for the 10k, 1/2's and Gold Coast. Well not sprints exactly but running almost as fast as I could.

Its the first time I've done that in, oh, 20 years. And I thought running distance could hurt.

Hmm, I know the feeling Bruce! I used to train a bit in a group of a Monday evening and we always did a few sprints, which I found completely contrary to my idea of running! Apparently it will speed you up if you stick with it. Don't forget to be warmed up before you start or it's easy to hurt yourself. Good luck with that.
See you on Sunday

Great Bruce! I'm very impressed - you'll be flying next time we're racing. Keep it up!

See you soon

Bruce
What happened to a penguin and proud?????
Just remember that speed kills!
I'll still be there at the back waddling along. And if you ever want a rest I'll still welcome you back with open arms, friendly chat and much singing. Will you leave us the Ipod???

In all seriousnes, I have been known to do the odd sprint interval on the treadmill. The trouble is that on a treamill when it all gets too hard it is very easy to hit the "slow down" button to make it go away.
I shall use you for inspiration and have another go at them.

Are you doing them once a week? Sorry that is shameless use of your trainer but I still want the answer (PLEASE). :-)

I do sprints (if you can call them that) each week with a group - and of course the more I train for a marathon the slower I get at the sprints BUT today I ran with them and came second - the feeling was almost as good as getting 4.32 in the marathon...

Denise aka Jesse someone or other who was fast..
