That has made my morning! Thank you Paula, did you notice the album title...Can't Slow Down!
So far my packing looks like a big pile of mess, just as well I don't know how to put a picture of that on the blog, and now Ted has thrown in the thin sock thick sock question. I've used both at times and can NEVER predict when I'm going to get whopping great blood blisters.
I'm going to put my stuff in a bag now, then have my mid-morning snack! Then it will be time for LUNCH. Bon apetit!

Margaret, DO NOT change anything from your last runs - if you wore thick socks in training, wear them on Sunday. Too late to change anything.
I lost two toenails last year in marathons, but eventually realised it was my shoes (not my socks) and used to have stacks of blisters.
If you have had blisters before, try one of two things on the day:
1) tape the blister area of your feet with sports tape. Be careful if you haven't done this before though, as often the tape can cause blisters itself (e.g. don't leave tape ends UNDER your feet). I can help with your taping on the morning if you want.
2) Use vaseline on all blister-prone areas. I smother my toes with vaseline before I put my socks on in the morning and haven't had one blister in 9 months.

Paula, what a great clip. But, I wonder how we would go running a marthon (all night long) in LEATHER PANTS! Imagine the chafing?!

You'd certainly loose a few kilos!
Thanks for the tip about blisters Phil. I think I'll go with the vaseline. I've lost three toenails since I started the programme...and I didn't feel a thing at the time!

"That's it All night long - Fiesta Forever!! Once you get started you can't sit down ... come and join our party - yes we are going to have a PARTY!!" Paula you're just great - what a great laugh I had looking and listening to Lionel's words - you're a great Lady!!! So FUNNNY!!!

Ah, dear fab friends - I had just a great laugh and can't stop thinking how cheerful this whole thing is. I left my packing for a while still - running bag is packed. One ticked off. Still need to do the rest. Margaret I got one of these kind of second skin tape (comfeel plus coloplast - transparent dressing) which Peter (my husband/nurse) gave me - I will have them with me on Sat and also on RACE DAY if you need them.

... I just had a break form by packing ... as my belly feels so full from all these carbs. I hope I do not end up like a Barbapapa.

You know what my kids say all the time? Ah, there she is Mum in front of the computer with her Fab and Striders ... You really like them do you mum?!
