It's great to be watching so much post Canberra vigour from you all. It took me a full fortnight to really get over it but I too have caught the bug and after 2 short runs (approx. 8 kms) I was starting to think in terms of surfers and/ or melbourne as I felt that there was "room for improvement".
Unfortunately for me, in my enthusiasm for the goal I lost sight of commonsense and wound up getting knocked over by a taxi in Mannheim. I am OK except for a fractured fibula but that puts an end to surfers at least. I can't believe I was so stupid but it's too late to cry over spilt milk. I guess its time to do a bit of helping out with striders runs for the next few weeks.
So I would urge you all to think of safety first and injury free running . Don't forget to listen to your body and to be kind to yourself.
Regards from soccer heaven

Ted, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your feeling better and not to sore. You're so right when you mention the safety.
My thoughts and wellwishes go out to you.
Look after yourself and hope to seeing you very soon.
Take care
Leonor
SCHRECKLICH!
Oh Ted that really is bad news. Thank goodness you're otherwise okay. Take care my friend - we'll still be here when you get back and going at the same "polite" pace - ready to keep you company.
Can you still get into the stadiums to see the soccer games?
How wonderful to know you're checking the blog from your European hols. We really are taking over the world!
I personally am deep into exam swot - CPA exam (Financial Planning module) is in just 4 sleeps. UUUUUGGGGHHHH! That's keeping me off the roads and at my desk. Can't say that it's good for my mental state though!
Auf wieder sehen
Paula
Thanks Paula and Leonor, I'm not sure about SCHRECKLICH but I was certainly saying a few other things. It hasn't stopped any of my plans everything is a little difficult but definitely still doable. Paula keep up the swotting the nation needs more financial planners .(I gather the brain summit was a bit of a flop - maybe marathon training should be compulsory- together we solve the nations problems !) GOOD LUCK WITH THE EXAMS !
Hey Ted, Take care of that injury! Are you sure you sustained that in a running accident,,,not busting up the opponent's supporters? Soccer crowds can get a bit over excited, I understand. But seriously, take care of yourself, we wouldn't want you to be indisposed for that night of nights, the Striders Awards Dinner! The MTG table needs you. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
See you soon
Margaret
Hi Ted,
How is it all going? Sorry about your break but it is a good reminder for us all
Denise
Hi Ted, sorry to hear about the break. How was the taxi? Hope you are still able to get around ok. take care. sharyn
I'm suprised Ted. Striders are usually so road rule conscious. Stopping at every traffic light. Looking to the left, then to the right, then to the left again.
Hopefully the injury hasn't interferred with the tour too much. Take care and we'll see you when you get back.
