aggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

HELP HELP HELP

No. 1 Son has been vomiting tonight!!!!

Trying so hard to be comforting but really wanting to just ward him off with a huge rope of garlic in one hand and the vitamin-c bottle in the other. But let's be honest - if it's gastro neither will help. :-(

Hints and suggestions please?????????

Phil - the following of your quotes is without doubt the best of all the programme.

We are different, in essence, from other men. If you want to win something, run 100 meters. If you want to experience something, run a marathon."-Emil Zatopek

I shall quote verbatim to all those folk who ask "why run a marathon?"

Sharyn - gosh I laughed out loud at the vision of you in a mad house-cleaning frenzy!!

You've certainly all made me feel better today and I'm ever so pleased we're all as nutty as each other.

Lee - Where are you?
Bruce - and how about you? Put that brief down for a minute and ssssstttttrettttccccchhhh

I'm sure we'll chat again on this blog soon. - obviously this is where all our running energy is being redirected!

1) Don't panic - the adoption laws are quite flexible in NSW - I am sure we can arrange something for someone with good genes like Sean.
2) One of the mottos is that don't change anything in the week coming up to the race - so good on you for keeping your week busy, messy and unplanned as usual!
3) tapering from running allows you more time to blog and wash the bed clothes
4) want some decorub? bound to make sure Sean is not wanting to be comforted by you (for those who missed this conversation between Paula and I, my husband slept (of his own volition!) on the lounge last week as I smelt of decorub!)

Thinking of you...

Oh no, sorry to hear your son has not been well, Paula.
I hope he will recover soon and you get a well deserved good night sleep.
Does he like coke (no diet coke though)? Very helpful remedy.

Lee - I still owe you a coffee, I hope to be able to make up for it in Canberra. Hope you're doing fine.

Bruce - btw thank you so much for that lolly the other day. Loved it. Happy stretching!

Denise, Margaret - can I meet you in Canberra before 2pm for a short run? Are you running before or after Phil's pep talk? I was also wondering if I possilby could leave a bag in your car/hotel whilst we're running?

Hey Fab Five and Friends - I'm so nervous - only five days to go ... yay!!!

PS I was up since 2am, feeling so refreshed and recoverd as if I had slept until 7am - I think I'm actually a bit of a 'mad' runner

Talk soon -

We are running our last jog at 1pm, meeting outside the Telopea Park Inn, where I'm staying. It's right at the race start, so you and anyone else who wants to , are welcome to leave bags, use the loo, whatever, in my room. My sleep has gone to pieces a bit too Leonor. I am impatient to get on with it now. I'm sure that is part of what the taper is meant to do , make you desperate to get out run. I'm very nervous.
Paula, if Sean's gastro keeps up you can sell him on ebay. That's pretty extreme, I know, but you have a marathon to run!
Seriously, I don't think you catch gastro from your kids, and if you need a bit of extra rest, get a friend to take the kids for a couple of hours one afternoon and sleep. A siesta if I'm sleep -deprived always does wonders for me. Good luck with that. Give him some boiled rice that has absorbed all the cooking water, so it keeps all the starch. That is excellent for tummies, as are grissini, the little dry breadsticks.

And Paula when I was running today I remembered my fifth helpful point - as a running mum you are perfectly placed for giving Gatorade for recovery etc!
