Today's to-dos:
* print off 3 copies of the carb-loading document and label "Thursday" thru "Friday"
* go shopping to ensure you have everything you need to eat (I've done my shopping today already)
* print off your pacing wristband from the Striders website
* Use your pacing wristband to pace yourself on your 8km run today. Pretend it's Sunday morning and you have another 34kms to go at the end.
* Use nervous energy productively (e.g. Sharyn and housecleaning)
* Ignore any aches and pains (your mind is playing tricks)
* Read last 3 editions of MTG weekly update (shameless plug here)
* Enjoy good luck messages coming in from other Striders
Hey, even I'm starting to get a few butterflies today!
I'm thinking of you all.
Phil

Thanks Phil - Dad :)
It's nice to see how you're looking after us. Thank you so much for that. I can see I'm still learning.
I'm off to shop tonight as I've already done Sharyn's cleaning.
Yours in tapering (it feels funny not to run ... I just hope it's the right thing to do ...
Leonor
Thanks Phil. Just finished my last offical 8kms. Started to feel good at about 7.5km. Now sitting down to my bread rolls, muffins and crumpets. This is for a girl who survives on a vegemite sandwich all day. Well......here goes
Atta girl Sharyn!
Only 42.195 to go.
Remember everyone, if you exercise over the rest of the week, you are going to burn carbs. The whole reason we are carb-loading it to SAVE carbs
So don't exercise...
Oh, one more thing - for those of you who haven't entered in the St Henri challenge, please send your guess at your finish time to Brian Ogilvie (BRIOG@bigpond.net.au). He will take entries on the weekend, but better to do it now.
Then after the race, I can let you know what MY predicted times for you all are..!
pacing wristband!!!!!
I'd completely forgotten about that! what else have I forgotten!!???
I'm up another notch or two on the excitement/anxious scale today....
On the positive - I'm still nausea free. But I did have to take three boys grocery shopping today :-{}
(that's me shouting a lot in the aisles of Coles).
How do they manage to zap out a vomit right before it's time to go to school to ensure another day off. And yet he's here at home as lively and into as much mischief as ever....ANYWAY.... You could actually see the boys' eyes popping out of their little heads when I put in the trolley pikelets, muffins and real coke!
I have signed my own leave form today and am taking the rest of the week off from work. Tomorrow after Margaret and I have our last run, I am going to paint my toe nails (well if they fall off I won't them to look nice on the ground).
I thought that training by myself was OK last time - this is so much more fun!
