I have been in touch with Ross McCarthy who organises the calender with our offer of being novice organisers of a run to say thanks to Striders for their support (Phil you get the first piece of cake and no work).
Ross has suggested June 1 as the date we host. We would need to collect the gear from the Cherrybrook Canter the Sunday before. We can suggest the run location (being mindful of the recent locations).
Does June 1 suit enough people and any suggestions about the run location? The sTar maps will give you a guide. See you on Sunday for the race (first one to each 2.5km stop gets the colour choice of the jelly beans....)

Hi Denise
Thanks for the initial work re hosting our own STar. The diary tells me that June 1 works! Indeed, diary says it's okay to do the Cherrybrook Canter the previous week to help with collection of "stuff".
.... Now, just WHERE IS Cherrybrook???
Anyway back to business...
My original thought had been that we should do the "10 bridges" but that's this week's run and so a repeat in June is (I think) too early.
Other options that I'm happy to do, and that seem as "central" as possible given our varied home bases are:
. Great North Walk - Woolwich
. Harbourside Hike - Waverton
. River Run - Putney
. North Ryde Ramble - Marsfield
. Mosman Reversed - Balmoral
. Rocks Push - Observatory Hill, Miller's Point
. Trailwalker Toetwinkler - Clifton Gardens at Mosman
I figure we can discuss the details once we've agreed dates and locales. So over to you guys for the next round of comments....
Sounds terrific, Denise. Date convenient and I could pick up the gear from Cherrybrook after our run, not a problem.
Any location for our first host sounds great - I might opt for North Ryde (could be the first to arrive if you wish) bu any location is fine by me.
See you all tomorrow for our fist 'serious' race.
Leonor
